"There are approximately 37 million deaf and hard of hearing people living in the United States. It is estimated that 1 in 10 live with some degree of hearing loss and over 2.2 million are considered deaf."

Provide a platform that allow the users to learn a new language. This platform is primarily used by teachers but is also open for the people that wants to learn sign language or is looking for tips related with the deaf culture. Also, the platform have a tutoring feature that is a 1:1 video call tutoring that will teach the user for 1 hr scheduled.

Niche Market: Teachers learning ASL (American Sign Language) from the age range of 30 - 49 y/o and children from the age of 11 - 18 y/o.

How learning a new language as ASL (American Sign Language) can be approach by any age in a fun and rewarding way.

Research + Findings

User Findings

2 to 3 of every 1,000 children in the United States are born deaf or hard-of-hearing.

9 out of every 10 children who are born deaf are born of parents who can hear.

Hearing loss affects approximately 17 in 1,000 children under age 18

Solution

Design a few campaigns to bring more users into the deaf culture, and make them feel that this is a language we should all learn. All the campaigns are concepts for different approachs depending of the audience.

Primary Platform

Turns "Learning" in more than just a language platform, it turns it more into a community.

Some of the features considered were "Tutoring" Services, which users can have 1:1 online appointments scheduled with ASL instructors to learn more specific words. This feature encourage our primary user (teachers) to used school material and learn it in sign languages.
